As shootings at schools, workplaces, and public areas become heartbreakingly common, people are left asking what they can do to protect themselves. While there is no way to be completely prepared for such a tragedy, there are certain procedures, drills, and steps your institution can take to help faculty, students, and staff know what to do should such an event ever occur on your campus. The presenters will share some of the specific steps Quinnipiac University has taken to help prepare for such a traumatic event.

Objectives:
+Define what an active shooter is and how to recognize indicators of potential violence by an employee
+Educate and prepare students, faculty, and staff to recognize and react to a potential active shooter scenario
+Understand what resources are available to you
